My little Harry picks up on things pretty quick. If he sees me do it once, he figures out how to do it. There are some things that I wait until he's asleep to do...that is until the other day, when I really needed to run the dishwasher. He stood there and watched me and things haven't been the same since!
Now, when it's unlocked, he opens it. (And tries to put lemons and balls in it!)
When I lock it so he can't open it, he turns it on and the dry, clean dishes are wet again. *Sigh* And it doesn't help that he has his daddy's height! My one year old son can now do this:
Stupid door knobs!! What was the builder thinking when they intalled these!!?? Yes, they're pretty and what not, but I could go for some good old fashioned round knobs. Good thing I always lock the front door and have the latch at the top. It should take him 'till he's at least 5 to reach that! (Ha ha...yikes...he better not be that tall at 5!!). Another feature he gets from his daddy are these cute little tootsies!
Cute, yes, little, no. He's always had big feet. I expected big feet after I married a size 15! He's growning out of a size 5...to put a little perspective on that, a size 5 is typically 18-24 months. He's 12 months, and almost to a 6. Now that Harry is a pro at walking, he's starting to get a little careless. He used to walk with his hands in front of him for balance and watch where his feet were going. Now, he pretty much tries to run everywhere he goes and those ever growing feet are getting in the way. We've had two fat lips and a scabbed up eye brow just this week. Colin was a pretty clumsy kid, but I was hoping Harry would get his coordination from me. Maybe there's still hope :) Or maybe he'll just be clumsy until he grows into his feet :)
I love Harry and I'll take his smarty-pants-ness any day! It makes my life interensting. I love watching him learn new things, try new things, and say new things every day. I heart my baby!! :) (oh excuse me, I believe he's officially a "toddler" now. Whatever! He's my baby!!)

What a cute story. Our kids never did anything like that but JJ loved to play in the dishwasher when it was open. He would always get his trains and roll them around in it. Thanks for sharing.
Um, Grayden is in between size 3 and 4 shoes......Harry is a giant! Or my kid is a runt :)
"Little big Harry" is so cute! But you're right to be careful about the front door. When my son Jack was about a year and a half old, one night he put my purse on his shoulder and said, "I go work now, Mommy. 'Bye!" I said goodbye without really paying attention and a few minutes later I noticed he was gone. I looked outside the front door and didn't see him but a passing car slowed way down for some reason. I decided to take a better look and found him across the street hiding behind the neighbor's tree with my purse still on his shoulder. He looked a little scared and I think it was because he hadn't really wanted to leave the house but once I told him, "Goodbye!" he'd had no choice but to follow through. I totally paid attention after that!
